Diorama Weather ("the app"), operated by Diorama Labs LLC (United States), turns a photo of your home into an AI-generated diorama that changes with the weather. This policy explains what data the app uses and why. The short version: no account is required, we don't sell data, your uploaded photo is never used to train any AI model, and the only personal content we store is what you upload to make your diorama.
Your uploads and generated content are used to provide the service, and — as described in our Terms of Service — may also be used by Diorama Labs to improve and develop our own products and services, including our own machine-learning systems. We do not sell your personal data, we do not use your content to derive biometric identifiers (such as face templates), and we only feature user content publicly when you choose to share it.
The AI providers we use to generate your dioramas and animations commit, in the service tiers this app runs on, that customer content is not used for their model training:
Our backup animation provider, fal.ai — used only if Kling is temporarily unavailable — receives only the generated diorama image, never your original photo. fal.ai's terms limit its use of that image to running the service and grant fal no ownership of your generated content; they permit fal to use only anonymized, aggregated usage data (which may be derived from inputs) to improve its own services (fal Terms of Service).
The app relies on: Apple WeatherKit (forecasts), the US EPA AirNow program (public air-quality data, via our own servers), Google Cloud / Firebase (storage, authentication, analytics, notifications, cloud functions), Google Gemini (AI image generation), and the Kling AI API — operated by LOHAS GAMES PTE LTD (Singapore), an affiliate of Kuaishou Technology (AI animation generation), with fal.ai (United States) as a backup animation provider used only if Kling is temporarily unavailable. Your original uploaded photo is only ever processed by Apple, Google, and our own cloud functions. Only the AI-generated diorama image — never your original photo, location, or any identifier — is sent to Kling (or, as a backup, fal.ai), and only when you choose to animate a diorama.
Animation is generated via the Kling AI API, operated by LOHAS GAMES PTE LTD (Singapore), an affiliate of Kuaishou Technology (China), through its Singapore API endpoint. If you animate a diorama, the generated diorama image is therefore processed on servers outside the United States and the European Union. We do not send your original photo, your location, or any account identifier to Kling. Kling's handling of the image it receives is governed by its own terms and privacy policy (including the no-training commitment quoted above); we store the finished animation on our own servers in the United States. If animation ever fails over to our backup provider fal.ai, the diorama image is processed by fal.ai in the United States.
Generated homes you delete in the app are flagged as deleted immediately and excluded from any restore; flagged content is then removed from our systems on a periodic cleanup, and short-lived storage backups (kept for disaster recovery, currently 7 days) expire on their own schedule. To request complete removal of all stored content tied to your installation, email us from the Contact Support link in Settings and we will erase it. De-identified or aggregated data that no longer identifies you or your content may be retained (see the Terms of Service). Content processed by third-party AI providers (Google, Kling) is subject to those providers' own retention policies.
The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
If this policy changes materially, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
